E&M Waterproofing Over the Years

E&M Basement Waterproofing was established in 1979. It was a dream of a young, ambitious couple, Ed Mihelic and Maria, that started when they were dating. At 20 years old, Ed worked for a waterproofing company during the week and managed a restaurant on the weekends. It was where he met Maria.

Ed and Maria would spend hours planning their future together. However, Ed would come home daily from his waterproofing job upset over work conditions and safety. Maria knew Ed was unhappy. That is when they decided to put the little money they had together to purchase a dump truck.

It took some time to make E&M Basement Waterproofing a household name, but they were young and determined. Ed would work long hours doing the manual labor and estimates, while Maria would handle all the office work. Over the years, Ed and Maria’s work ethic has not changed; you will still find Ed meeting with customers and running the crew while Maria handles the administrative work.

To Ed and Maria, the most rewarding part of the business is helping people and creating a company in which both their children are involved. As they celebrate their 45th year in business, they would like to sincerely thank more than 25,000 customers who have entrusted them with their homes over the years. With the family’s second generation actively working in the business, you can find Ed training the third generation of waterproofers.
